Independant Reading Project- Book Report Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet BY Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Summery: Part One: Following the point of view from John Watson, who has just returned to London from Afghanistan, we see him meeting and moving in with the eccentric consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes.Soon after they are given the case of the murder of a man; Sherlock gathers theories and evidence from just looking at the man. One evening, Watson and Holmes are interrupted by Lestrade who tells them Strangerson had been killed. Investigating into it they find that he was stabbed not poised and that in his room was the poison used in the murder. Holmes announces that he has solved the case and on cue a cab arrives to pick him up (no one had called for this vehicle). Sherlock informs the others that the cab driver is the murderer and he is subdued. Part Two: Beginning in a desert in America, two waifs, John Ferrier and his daughter Lucy, are rescued from starvation and allowed to stay with the new group, their leader a Brigham Young. Fast forwarding, we see Lucy wanting to marry Jefferson Hope, however since he is not Morman it is forbidden.
